I know I'm a bit slow on all things IT compare to others but I wanted to post this just in case it wasn't only me that got caught out.
I'm using an ibiza facebook site to promote my available weeks. Apart from the odd 'tag' I've not had any luck.
A friend then 'liked' a facebook post about filter messages. I decided to follow instructions to see if I had any. I had about 5 messages from people enquiring about the house from my post.....but I hadn't seen them
I didn't know there was this filtered message system. I did know about the 'others' box (which seemed to have disappeared).
I was livid!
Thankfully most were only a few days old.....but all of them had found other accommodation bar one.

Good post Mouse. You're right, lots of people don't know about it. Here's how to find it on your phone in messenger:
Go to settings
Click on people
Click on message requests
in blue writing - see filtered requests
It's really not obvious until you know where to look.
Hope you get a booking or two from the group Mousie

So what is the difference between 'message requests' and 'filtered requests'?.
I'm guessing 'recent' are ones I've already seen?
(As you can probably tell I really don't 'get' FB but I'm using it on a laptop in firefox browser and accessing these headings by clicking on the little speech bubble icon at the top of the page)

Me too nemo!Hope you get a booking or two from the group Mousie Smile
Thanks also for the explanation....I forgot to put that
Dotty...as far as I understand it the recent are ones that come through direct to you but the filtered ones are messages that you have to look at via the filtered link as described by nemo.
I understand that the ones that end up in filtered are ones that are from non-friends or non friend of friends. ....tho I may be wrong.

Talk about confusing!Cymraes wrote:There are now 3 FB message inboxes
The normal one
The "Message Requests" one
The Filtered one
How FB decide whether to put your message in the requests or filtered one I have no idea. I think if you are friends of friends or in the same FB group it goes in the requests but don't quote me!
I now have to remember to check them all when posting adverts.

Yes I've been caught out by this as before as well. I tried to sell some things on my local buy and sell page. Months later discovered a load of messages asking to buy them - they were long gone! Luckily I learnt from that and check regularly now but its a bit of a pain that they're not obvious when they arrive
