Windows 98 -yes 98!!!

I have given our old PC to my parents (Dad is ex-IT teacher), and we need the code for our old copy of Windows 98 which has vanished into the ether somewhere (last seen at Dad's for his old laptop). He has a boot disk, and even another copy of 98 with a product key, but it keeps saying the code is wrong, so I assume he needs the code for the original installation. ONce sorted he plans to upgrade to Windows ME.
