Not wishing to confuse matters but there is of course the alternative "vanitory" as used by estate agents in the UK to "posh up" bathroom descriptions

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/vanitory
van⋅i⋅to⋅ry
  /ˈvænɪˌtɔri, -ˌtoʊri/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [van-i-tawr-ee, -tohr-ee]

–noun, plural -ries.

a combined dressing table and lavatory basin.

Origin:
1950–55; vani(ty) + (lava)tory
I do hope that they mean the sink!

" mmm darling - your hair smells lovely!"

Oh yeah - I'd see a dressing table as a nice to have in a second bedroom, but we do get the odd guest comment as we don't have one.
