Techie help needed

Husband was trying to set some network settings on his computer. It is my old one from work and we didn't disable the log in prompt. Now for some reason it won't let him log in with the correct username and password. Even starting up in Safe Mode prompts for the password. Is there anyway around this or are we locked out of it for good???
OS is Windows 2000 Professional.

There is software available for unlocking passwords but it's expensive and probably not worth it for you. Go to:-
