Get postcards made up with picture of your accommodation.

Leave a few at your place with a note for your guests to feel free to use them to send home to their friends & family.

Could go further and put stamp on it as well.

Make sure you leave instructions to where the nearest post box is along with all your other tips.

If it was negative then by them sending it to their contacts this would stop them from using your services.

If it was positive then perhaps their contacts would use you.

Hullo Colin and welcome to the forum. We do use postcards although mine came back from the printers with a rather yukky mustard background instead of the cheery yellow that I was expecting.

The mustard colour - we..ell I sort-of blamed myself as it didn't look like a true sunflower yellow on Vistaprint's website and I'd just hoped it would turn out better in reality. It was slightly worse in fact.

We do that - not everybody uses them. I don't put stamps on though so perhaps I should.

We leave postcards, one with a welcome greeting already written on it for the arriving guest, and a few of the apartment/chalet for them to send off if they wish. We had two made, one winter scene, and one a summer one with four photos.

No, I don't put stamps on but it may be a good idea to do so.

I make our own postcards on our printer. Some are of the properties and others of the village (there aren´t any for sale here). All have our details on the back. The ones of our properties are free - we charge a euro for the others which covers costs. Seem to be quite popular

I´m having problems finding heavy enough card though (preferably at least 300 gr). I bought a stash last year in an art shop in the UK, but haven´t been able to get hold of more. I´ve printed some arty ones of landscapes on water colour paper, but the regular stuff is running low. Any suggestions anyone??

I got mine printed by another Hatter. I've passed her details on to a lot of people, including my niece who wants some printed for her jewellery business. Really good value and quality. We used to do a greeting card to welcome our guests,which hubby made himself at home, but the postcard is just fine.

Wow 300gms through a printer....Think mine would rebel.

Have you tried contacting printer in your area for just the card.
