Problems Outlook to BT AGAIN

Post by apexblue »

Not sure how many times this has happened now but am starting to get paranoid. Sent a reply to an enquiry from Outlook to BT and nothing received (junk or otherwise).

This morning guests who we emailed from OE to BT have not received them. Are we the only ones having problems with this? Tested OE to our BT email and no problem.

Is your guest also using Outlook or some desktop email client ?

If yes, here is how an email travels when you send an email.

Your Outlook --> Your Web email server -- > Guest web email server --> Guest Outlook

The guest's web email server will probably have a spam blocker and thus not even send on to the guest's Outlook.

No it's Outlook to BT that seems to be the problem.

You can send emails to your own BT account but you cannot send to an enquirers BT account? If so it can't be a problem with the BT server.

Do you have the right email address or does your enquirer have spam filters set so that your email ends up in trash/deleted or blocked completely?

I had a similar problem at the weekend with an enquirer saying my emails had never arrived. Turns out they gave the wrong email address (a mis-placed 'g') so someone else with a pretty common name was getting my emails.
Some guests just need a sympathetic pat. On the head. With a hammer.

No correct addresses and they haven't arrived in spam/junk.

They have now received them after sending from our BT email but still waiting for Outlook to arrive.
