Merry Christmas everyone and a happy and prosperous new year.
I am so glad I found this forum - all the words of advice and friendship have helped me to decide to take the plunge and move to France next year to run a gite or two, so I hope you will all assist me to realise my dream by answering the avalance of questions I am bound to ask when I finally make it!
I particularly like the fact that people are based in so many different countries, and my favourite thread of all this year is the one about towels!!
I hope all you fluffy and not-so-fluffy people have a very good holiday season this Christmastide.
Blessings and happiness to all.
Loopy Loo!

Margo's quote, "Yuletide Felicitations", was from my favourite episode - the one where she had ordered all her food, presents and decorations to be delivered (this was in the days before online shopping and it was only the "privileged" who had their shopping delivered). Anyway, she had a row with the delivery man who just drove off, leaving her to deliver the immortal line "Christmas is cancelled!". Tom and Barbara then saved the day by coming round with their home-made food and Christmas decorations such as the crackers made from newspaper which you had to say "pop" as you pulled them because they had no snaps inside....
(Sorry, this bit of reminiscing is aimed at all you UK laymyhatters - those of you who never saw the Good Life on British TV will think I am bonkers...)

I am Christmassing at a couple of rental houses in England - one near Winchester and one near Lyme Regis - and I am on very slow dial-up so not able to take an active part in the forum. Which is a shame because I am missing out on the Christmas quiz madness (did Brooke really post a picture of a skunk's genitals?)
Anyway, best wishes and season's kisses to you. I have not met any of you but I like all of you, and I think I am not alone in saying that.

I have been waiting to post here because I have been trying to get a picture of my Christmas cards in, so that you all can have a sort of virtual card from me. Alas, my scanner is fried!
So Merry Christmas to you all!
Brooke
