electricity price hike

Post by lorca »

We´ve been approached by some British reps of a company called midas energy, who say that Endesa are going to put their prices up by 25% in Jan and we ought to change to them (their unit price is currently higher than Endesa´s). Did´t like their hard sell, but ould be interested in your views.

Does anyone know about this? A 25% rise could push our margins to the limit.

Does anyone use a company other than Endesa?

..we have heard the same down here and would also be interested to know.
The price of electricity is high enough as it is. Many of our town halls are indebted to the electric companies and cannot afford to pay their bills.
No Christmas lights for some towns this year.

Well the price of electricity, like gas is controlled by the government. to announce a price rise the government issues a bulletin. The newspapers quickly pick up on this and we have not read anything about this recently.
Before jumping ship from one supplier to another read the agreement carefully. We was once approached the rep. said that we could reduce our bill by quite substantial sum. In the end it turn out to be around 75 cents a month!

So it is only a report. But who commissioned the report? The next government of Spain, the electricity companies or the Spanish consumer organisation?
So what will Rajoy do?

For once Lorca, I really hope you are wrong! My electricity billas are enormous so a hike like that will cripple us too.

Here is a piece about Rajo's speech.
Pan down the page and read the bit titled.

I think this could be good news as we are paying one of the highest tariffs in Europe.

Excellent I and I, thanks for that.

I´ve been out of the loop for a bit, and am just catching up.

The government has just announced it's "budget" for the next year. Electricity prices will not rise. But some taxes are.
