A huge woodland fire started yesterday afternoon near us and seemed to be heading for the coast. Hope you are all OK down CALAHONDA way.

Many evacuated.

Are you ok, Fern? I know just how frightening it is, having lived through it last week.

We have just had three huge downpours of rain which have given the fire crews who have been watching since Sunday night when they finally got all the fires out, some blessed relief, but maybe a load of the volunteers have now had to head your way.

I am fine thank you..the mountain with many fire breaks sits between me and it - we are on the airport side and that is also out of harm's way.
I saw it in its infancy starting when I was out in Alhaurin el Grande/Coin on Friday afternoon. It is fairly close to us but we are protected this side.

Quite a few horses have been burned to death unfortunately. We have helpers from our area giving food and transport , dog food etc - one of the dog refugios had to be evacuated - burnt down now and they need help too.
