Managing payments from abroad

Post by cgspain »

I am finding increasingly, and unsurprisingly, that people complain about the high commission rates charged by banks to transfer money to my account in Spain. How do other people accept payments? Is Paypal a good idea?

We have a Spanish account (used by euro guests) a sterling account and Paypal (for N Americans and other non euro or sterling guests)

Seems to work OK, although there are charges for Paypal too - which guests pay (usually without complaint!)
If not now, when?

If you have a Spanish bank account, ask them to provide a card machine. We have one from Cajamar which works off GPS.
Always look on the bright side.

Registered for IVA, tax and Autonomo, but the bank account is a private one in my name.
Always look on the bright side.
