Pool Alarms

Post by la vache! »

I've just read this on another forum about pool alarms no longer being compliant to the pool safety regs in France, not sure how much truth is in it, but there might be something in it:-

Poolguy is a registered pool/safety installer and generally find he is spot on with what he says.

Interesting to see the hot thread develope.

When/if AFNOR NF 90-307 is removed from the regulations the fact will be published.

Until then it is an unsubstantiated rumour, just like much which has been said about pool safety systems over the last three years.

Of course, there isn't as much profit to be made from installing alarms as there is in installing a fence or abri

That's probably what lay behind many of the rumours, inaccurate claims and false advertising which were rife a year or two ago.

It may be unsubstantiated at the moment, but there is a report due out at the end of the month which could change things. Of course pool alarms will not be non compliant overnight as there will need to be a change of law, but there does seem to be some general concern about their effectiveness.
