Battley, sorry I'm going to repeat a bit of my post of yesterday:

This market is pretty well saturated I suspect, so it's a tough business to get into now unless the newbie has an angle that hasn't been thought of - or specialises in some way... I don't think we are arrogant in saying this, or unsympathetic to anyone seeking a change of direction, but it depends on the direction.
You're extremely determined and I admire you (and I don't mean that in a patronising way) - but I really feel your talents and energies could be put to better use. Here is a post I found from Alan, one of our 'intelligent posters' referred to by someone, which he entered on the forum in May of last year. Alan, I hope you don't mind my dredging it up for the purposes of this thread.

So far it contains no less than 67 invitations to join "the best rental site since sliced bread was invented. They vary from the "it's totally free" to the "pay for every fictitious enquiry" and I have managed to resist them all.
No matter what sort of Internet search I do none of them appear at all – well, not on the first few pages and I never go further than that when looking for anything."
In all likelihood that number has increased a further 25% at least since then, and only represents the number that actually found Alan's property in the first place or got around to spamming him.
