problems with Frontpage
I wonder if anyone can help me please? I am updating my website and when I preview in Frontpage everything is fine but once it's uploaded my main heading is appearing way to the right of everything else and I don't understand why! I have used wordart in Word to create this heading. I also want to direct people to my French pages and again the hyperlink works when I preview in Frontpage but not once it's uploaded and again I don't understand why. Presumably I've forgotten to do something very simple! Many thanks in advance for any advice.
Hi Langley
I use FrontPage a lot. For the headings I tend to make my own "theme" and put my own header in as a "page banner". (Photo from College Valley) http://www.lilycottagebelford.co.uk/
You do have to fiddle about with the modify theme controls, browse to get which picture/graphic you want. You are tied to the text on offer for formatting though unless you create the text/pic as a graphic and use that. (If that makes sense!) Using a page banner tends to centre this for you. You can then choose to centre the text, right/left align.
Sorry to be negative (you can throw pot shots at my web anytime!!) but I'm not sure your WordArt title works..... It is also fuzzy like it has maybe been resized beyond it's capacity.
If this doesn't make sense give me a shout and I'll give more details.
Your union flag link doesn't work on mine and the welcome's are not aligned under the flags. Are you working in tables? I know I'll get the techie experts chipping in with CSS, FP hate mail etc but if you are using FP then that is the way I do it.
Edit - just realised this was your first post - Welcome! I hope my (hopefully) constructive criticism doesn't put you off. My opinion only!

Hello Langley, welcome to the forum!
I too am a Frontpage user (my entire website was constructed in Frontpage), I know that some people deride it but it works for me
Anyway, I've had a look at the source HTML of your website, and for some reason the line which includes your graphic reads:
I can't look at it more closely at the moment as I'm supposed to be doing supper!
Let us know if my clue helps you out...

I'm not too sure how/why you have this "span style" around your image, this is not something that I use. But maybe the bit about "position absolute left 35" may have something to do with it?<span style="position: absolute; left: 35; top: 36; z-index: -1"><img border="0" src="images/nav_to1.gif" width="515" height="159"></span>
I can't look at it more closely at the moment as I'm supposed to be doing supper!
