help with advice on a mini break in Barcelona, please?
Hello, fellow LMH peeps. I and my daughter( 25) are intending on taking a short break in Barcelona in October. I would love some advice on which district to stay in. We don't require a luxury type holiday pad, so I was looking at some apartments a ten minute metro journey from the centre. Daughter Mhairi would like some bars and cafes, I would like somewhere that is perhaps a little quieter after 12 ,as I like to sleep with a window open( menopausal flushes.. ) .We intend to do lots of sightseeing /museums/ but are quite happy to metro to see these. We're not interested in shopping, particularly. Should I be looking at the beach district, or what would you recommend?
What's the top things to see?
Thanks in advance!

Here is the link for the boat, I wanted to stay there when travelling with work but it didn't work out. Looks great, a little distance from the centre of town but not far from a Metro station.

The Trip Advisor forum has a bunch of information and some knowledgeable contributors: http://goo.gl/6EX5fd
Some guests just need a sympathetic pat. On the head. With a hammer.

That's how my kids refer to me - but only when I have my cheque book out.Paul Carmel wrote:A tad old but still relevant.......

Just a tip.....if there's only 2 of you and you tip up at a restaurant you want to try and there's a queue.....just walk in and ask for a table. Often they are in the queue as they want a table for 4 or 6. 2 is no probs.
We would never have known but Mr M has no shame....and I hate queueing! So between us we've beaten every queue (including st marks at Venice. ..I was in within 3 minutes )
The only one we failed at was in Granada at the Alhambra.
