Hi
Can anyone help with a good, reliable, economical carrier to France. We have some furniture that we would like to take across from UK?
We are looking for the cheaper option but feel we don't want to bob down in a van ourselves. We have done this ourselves before and is exhausting!!
Thanks
Emma

Carriers to France
Hi
Furniture will be going from Charing in Kent and to a small hamlet called La Chapelle Themer which is close to Fontenay Le Comte, the Vendee.

Emma, hi
We've always found French Property News (monthly rag) very useful, and full of ads for removal services. They also have a website with classifieds:
http://www.french-property-news.com/
Personal recommendation is best, though.
For Switzerland we have to use specialist services to get the VAT refund (which pays for the transport and duty inbound - good wheeze that - and effectively it's a free service door-to-door). I've heard of dodgy geezers who ship VAT-free into Switzerland and then slip it back across into France - the border's surprisingly open and non-existent in some places around Lake Geneva.....but certainly wouldn't advise it.

Try www.hedleyshumpers.com. Owned by Steve Hedley a neighbour of mine here in St Paul.
However, I don't know how his prices compare.
Let me know how you get on.

No need to go far to shop 'til you drop - just go next door to Chanel. http://rueparadis.monsite.wanadoo.fr/
