Vintage posters and so on from your area

Post by Martha »

I was looking at all the lovely old posters for Chamonix - I know they are really overused, but there are some that I love - when I though it might be fun to see some other LMH vintage posters - do you have any for your area? There's some good ones here:

Here's a couple of my favourites

They are great - wasn't surprised not to find the Lot-et-Garonne - we are still undiscovered. More surprised not to se my home town Wigan - I understand the slag heaps have been turned into dry ski slopes now but surely it was also an attractive venue in the past

I'm quite surprised not to find some of Wigan, too! But no. There must be some, surely. I hadn't thought of looking for the area I'm from - that's a nice idea! I found this lovely one:

Looked into this wwhen we first bought our house in FW France, but even repro ones, when they exist, seemed very expensive. :( Don't want to throw a dampener on the subject, but...

This is one of my favourite local pictures/signs. It is original and preceeds my cottage by around 20 years. (edit) Oh, ebay is quite a good source of old postcards too. I have quite a collection from the village.

That's great, thanks Firebug. :)
