We run a big house here, my question is that the guests often book there own suppliers, can be chefs dance classes chocolate suppliers, and several more experiences I may have missed.
I want to know firstly should I see there Insurance covers them at our property for using our facilities, and secondly if we are entitled to some commission from them. I feel we are giving them our property to use to make there money. They use our electricity, leave there rubbish. and go off with our utensils etc If they did not have some one premises to use they would have no business. Your opinions please

commission from suppliers
commission from suppliers
there is none so queer as folk
My thoughts are that if you start charging commission to these outside entities, about which you are not likely to know very much, they are likely to expect something back from you in some shape or form, as well as a payment from the guests. I am not suggesting these outside suppliers would be ultra-demanding, but just sufficiently annoying as to be not worth the hassle. For example, wanting you to move the furniture around or to supply some specialist equipment for whatever it is they do.
Regarding insurance, I think you would need to study the fine print of your policy for restrictions and exclusions. e.g. "The Property shall be used for holiday lettings only and not for any other purpose" i.e. not for dance classes.

I would think that if you were asking the professionals to provide the service on behalf of your guests, then you would be entitled to ask for something in return,as you would be advertising the service on your property website/guest book etc, but as it is a private arrangement between guest and provider, I don't think it is likely they would agree. I get a small amount of commission from a transfer company for advertising them to my guests, but nothing from the catering firm that occasionally drops ready made meals at my apartment, as I don't directly advertise the service, just mention it is available if needed.
