If this instruction comes into effect then my wife and I will have to close our FHL business down for the foreseeable future.
We are both over 70 years of age and run and manage our FHL ourselves including the cleaning.
If we ignore the instruction there could be possible legal implications for us if our guests become infected during there stay.
By adhering to the instruction we will have to cancel our existing bookings for at least the next 4 months (though we are expecting some of our guests to cancel their holidays with us anyway.)
I cannot see our insurance company reimbursing us for cancelled bookings either.
Uncertain times lie ahead.

Thanks for the advice and it is a good suggestion, however we do prefer to manage and clean our FHL ourselves. Also we are not getting any queries or bookings since this emergency started.newtimber wrote:Why not find someone else to do the work for you? There will be lots of people who are suddenly short of work, short of money, and this would give them something to do until times improve.
We have now reconciled to the fact that our FHL business will close down until this pandemic is over.

Thanks for this.
As things stand we can manage without an income from the holiday let. Also we have had an unpleasant experience in the past with renting out a property on a short term let, so would not want to go down that 'path' again.
