Hi all. Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts/experiences around loss of income insurance following the recent Supreme Court judgment?

We have insurance with Boshers which makes it very clear on their website that they didn't and don't cover cancellations due to Covid-19 as it isn't on the list of specified diseases in their policy.

Reading the Supreme Court judgment, it looks as though one could potentially be covered by "prevention of access" but the Boshers policy only seems to cover prevention of access due to damage at the property or a neighbouring property, rather than including anything to do with instruction from a public authority.

If the brokers (Boshers) are being difficult, raise a complaint with the underwriters. This has worked for people with insurance through Schofield’s.
then onto the Ombudsman, it is all about the wording in your policy, but the Supreme Court has looked carefully at that.

Thanks Zebedee. The underwriters are Ecclesiastical who were involved in the original court case but did not form part of the appeal. We'll get on it.
