Hi,
I have been quoted £565 for a 2 bed apartment which seems very steep what do you think is this what you have to pay for a small holiday let?

You don’t say if you have approached specialist companies such as Schofield’s, Boshers, NFU, Cottagesure??
It is essential as stated above to get a wide range of quotes from different companies, but the specialist ones usually understand what you need and include this in their policy.
Good luck and do come back with more comments.
Ps it isn’t because you have a flat is it??? After the fire in London tower block, flats can be a nightmare. I too pay less for a house than you are quoted.

I think I would try and get a homeowners quote for the same property to see if it’s the actual building that’s causing the issue. Otherwise do shop around and consider using a broker as you are being quoted a high rate (unless it’s filled with priceless antiques?? ).
I presume you have checked the lease and it allows for the apartment to be used as a holiday let? Someone here has had serious issues with their management company as a result of the lease.
Best wishes

Many thanks for your ideas Zebedee, I was going to call Boshers back and see if they have done their quote correctly.zebedee wrote:Just a thought. If you have a flat, buildings insurance is generally covered within your management fee. That means you only need contents, public liability and to be sure it covers bathroom etc.
Do Boshers realise this? Are they quoting you you for buildings and contents?
The Flat is in a complex with total 6 flats and it is a new build just been completed as we speak. I have purchased outright so would need Building & Contents Insurance I have looked around and had a lot of other quotes now and £176 being the best so far by Insurance for Holiday Homes.

Its unusual for a block of flats to be insured separately.
Normally its a one off policy, to which you all pay, in this instance one sixth, unless of course there really is a big difference in all the sizes.
