Accommodation wanted La Roche sur Yon and Brest March 2007

Post by Ali »

I received this email today and wondered if anyone could help:
My husband has meetings in La Roche Sur Yon on Monday and Tuesday, March
12-13. We thought you were much closer than 4 hours! We are having a lot of
difficulty finding similar accommodations to your house, closer to La Roche.
The pictures are beautiful and it is exactly what we are looking for. Do you
have any suggestions for similar accommodations closer to La Roche.

Also - later in the week - we are heading to Brest. Do you have any
suggestions for that area?
It's a pity I'm too far away but if anyone can help this lady, I'll pass on her details. You can see what my house looks like at http://www.holidaylets.net/prop_detail.asp?id=5164.

Hello Ali,

We have a house that's only 15 mins from Brest although it's nothing like yours - sleeps 12!

We could probably do a deal on the price if there are only 2 of them though - just a thought if they get desperate!

Your house looks wonderful by the way, very cosy.

Thanks very much Kathy and Fraise for your quick responses.

I've PM'd Kathy with the enquirer's details and will contact the enquirer and suggest she try Ju. Her property is also pretty big but she seems to be near La Roche so it's worth a try.

I just think it is a little strange that they want to rent a house for a couple of days in March rather than stay in a little hotel or b&b, which would probably be much cheaper and warmer in March than renting a gite!

This is actually the third request I've had for short winter stays in the past fortnight.

The first lot came last weekend arriving Thursday evening and left Monday morning. They were just driving from Paris though.

The second lot want Easter weekend and live in the Netherlands.

This person who wants March lives in the States so it does seem a long way to come but they do only get short holidays. She also said her husband has to go to meetings in La Roche so it looks like a combined business trip/holiday.

Maybe short winter breaks are a new trend?

I get quite a few short breaks, but it tends to be for families/groups where it works out a lot cheaper and more convenient to rent a whole house rather than a hotel. Saying that, I've taken a 3 night booking for an Australian couple in October, so I guess it is just horses for courses! It is nice having a house as opposed to one room - more of a home from home! I just know in winter that when a house isn't inhabited all the time it can take quite a lot of heating to get it to a reasonable temperature in winter.
