IQ test?

Post by Giulia »

Hi there I have recently been severely tested by trying to identify how this site works. :? Would this be a meaningful challenge for you computer whiz' kids? If you break the code the reward is that you can advertise for free. The draw back is that you will not get many computer challenged clients or anyone in a hurry to find a holiday stay. :P
The site in question is:

Oh dear...

It took me about five minutes just to find the actual map search thing. Most of their links are "this is how it works!" rather than the "it" itself.

Then I tried a default search in my area... and the default search was for boats within 9999 miles. How useful.

Even doing a reasonable search within a reasonable area, the results weren't impressive and took too long to load.

Wow, not good.

Guila,
Thanks for this. I have borrowed it for "the worst listing site in the world" thread, as it's a very strong contender in my book.

Brooke, foolishly, I tried typing in the zip code search box first, thinking that's what it's there for, then read the instructions and got the idea. The closest map of my area is about 500 miles in each direction and it was quite a struggle to get that far, with no results at the end of it, and that included Manhattan. Apparently there isn't any accomodation to be had there.

Got a headache just trying to navigate around the site!
Can imagine people searching for a holiday on this site clicking the 'get out of here' button very quickly!

[and maybe they might tell us how they did it    ]

Hi Ros

Couldn't resist your challenge and amazingly enough have managed to get listed after wading through all the waffle. Therefore I claim the award!!! :D

Once you get into it, not so bad doing the listing but think that those searching for a property may be perplexed. :?

I now know the MENSA membership isn't a waste after all.

Good Luck

Well done Nessie, I accept defeat graciously. Can't wait to be at the award ceremony to hear your acceptance speech (lots of tears and thanks to all who have ever known you).

Let's not hold our breath for all those enquiries.

Good Luck

Ros,
And dont yathink its about time it was called WOMENSA
To be PC, which I am not, shouldn't it be PERSONSA? Maybe they'll change it when Man U becomes Personchester United?
