Spanish equivalent to CenterParcs-style place?

Post by ginelli »

I'm getting married in May. As a honeymoon a CenterParcs-style place would be spot on for us. We are both international tour guides and exotic places and far flung destinations cry out more work than holiday

Since we live near Perpignan in France we'd like to drive over the border into Catalonia. It doesn't have to be CenterParcs and it certainly doesn't have to be big and corporate. It would just be great to go to some swanky place where you can be pampered, get a massage, sauna, jacuzzi, do a bit of sport, maybe swim, etc, etc.

I'm lost as to where to begin looking. Can anyone give me any suggestions?

Many thanks,

gx

Gino,

Have you thought of Aiguablava? It should tick many of your boxes.

For many years I holidayed in Mojacar and always drove. I needed night stops and this was one of many I used. I haven’t been for quite a while now so I hope it hasn’t changed too much.

BTW. I prefer the Aiguablava Hotel to the Parador.

Alan, thanks again. You really have saved me weeks of frustration trying to find somewhere. Just have to get the OK from the other half now. Should be OK.

To assuage the girls' curiosity we'll be getting married in the village where I bought and did up the France house. It has a sweet little church, lunch after in the only restaurant for 50 family and friends and for the evening we are doing a buffet and drinks with all the village invited (appx 150). Should be a good day.

Gino,
Should be a good day.
It will be a time to remember for ever; the formal marriage at the local Mairie, followed by the celebration of the marriage at the local restaurant, followed by your honeymoon trip. That’s a time to remember, for ever.
