Posting your listing I mean!! As in the next couple of days, not the next year. Or have you already added it?

Yes, that link of Helen's, and near the top right of the page, you click on EN for the English version, but as you plough through their pages, you might find the Google language translator thing useful, as mine kept reverting to German.

Also keep in mind, as it's a Swiss site, there's also google.ch to test for Google performance.

MG, fortunately no 1 son was around, so I didn't need the google translator. :D . Is it necessary to fill in the details in German too? I will sort it tomorrrow if so, and I still need to enter my rental prices.

No, I don't think so. I think the idea is to input in one language and it does the other 3 for you.

It still baffles me where the owners are from - how on earth would 10,000 Danish holiday home owners have heard of the site and be minded to list? Are the flights between Geneva and Copenhagen crammed with a lemming-type rush each summer? It must be taking a listing feed from something else.

Also, if you go in as a punter, and try and get some further info on a property, there's no communication with the owner, just a Book Now link; if you click on that you have to fill in an extended booking form which would be enough to put off any initial enquirer, and they may think they're making a live booking rather than asking for information. Compulsory birthdate and address on an initial enquiry? All a bit silly.

He is also going to check out the Hitwise statistics for us.

No, but they are only the most popular searches. There is another thread on SH's about SEO (Davidof has written a book about it), and simply having a simple and fairly unique domain name can boost your chances. So perhaps I was not so stupid in choosing chamoissiere.co.uk for mine.

Yes been looking on SH too, I need to do some work over the weekend on learning a bit about html and stuff.

I tried to choose a simple domain name too that included the words 'ski' and 'alps' so hopefully in time that will help :?

BTW - what does chamoissiere mean?

A goat(chamois) herder I think??

It's getting confusing talking about the same thing on two different websites though

Blimey

Although ski rentals aren't my thing, I'm just trying to write the copy for my new (in progress) personal website - how the heck are we supposed to fit all those word variations in without it sounding stupid.

Ah well, I guess we'll all be burning the candle at both ends for a while yet hey!

We use Metcheck for our weather forecasts, winter and summer. It's especially good for snow (and rain) conditions.

They're now accepting ads for between £2 and £10 a resort, with claims of 50,000 visitors/day in winter. Ads can be customised and there's tracking.

Could be worth a punt depending on exposure? And snitching customers from the more well-known resorts?
