Hi,
Has anyone heard of a new legislation for swimming pools in rental accommodation in Italy?
We have been told that the max depth allowed in 1.2m and anything deeper than this requires a full time lifeguard.
Our pool is 1.4m and I hate to think we have to fill it into 1.2m to meet legislation.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Helen

I used to be a lifeguard many, many moons ago...you can drown in a few inches of water, drown in your bath and no amount of legislation will save you.
I do hope they don't bring in such a stupid law and that this is just a windup or misunderstanding. When are folk going to take responsibility for themselves ?
The world is going mad... we will die, not from drowning nor bruised by dangerous conkers, but from suffocation, swaddled in bureaucratic cotton wool. Rant over
We cannot put less water in our pools because of the filtration and skimming systems - they are built to specifications intended for levels already set. The costs would be horrendous.
