You are so right. It is easy to talk about numbers as though they were the important thing. In reality, sometimes it is too hot for comfort and that is the way it is here right now.

It's just before midnight local time and it is 32°C outside on the terrace and 36°C inside the house and that's not conducive to a good night's sleep.

12.28 and I've just come in from a floodlit swim - that's lovely. Will sleep with the fan on all night again I expect. These temperatures certainly make you realise why these old French houses are built the way they are. We went to a local town for a Bodega evening and the temp was fine for eating out - just a hint of a breeze keeping things at comfort level. Tomorrow we are invited to our plumber's 30th wedding anniversary celebrations so I hope it won't be too hot as we'll have a lot of food and wine to get through!!
