It is - literally - Freezing!

Post by brenda »

For the very first time in the 7 years we have lived here in the Axarquia region of Southern Andalucia, this morning our car was completely frozen over.

All surrounding mountains and hills are snow covered at least 1/3 of the way down.

Looks lovely BUT brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Current temperature (9.30 a.m.) has reached the dizzy height of 2 degrees C.

I'm amazed Brenda, that's no better than we're experiencing here in the UK - Where's global warming when you need it?

Yup! We had a beautiful frost this morning - first time I have seen it in 9 years  - and ICE on a puddle at 9.30am! And we are only 25 minutes from the coast and not that high up! I seem to recall one of the reasons for choosing this far south to flee to was the warm winters  !!

 :(
''Meteorologists have issued a fresh storm warning for northern Spain. Twelve people were killed when the north was hit by a heavy storm at the weekend. The Spanish meteorological institute was criticised for not issuing a warning in time.

The region is still reeling from the after effects of the storm. Tens of thousands of people are still without power.

The situation is even worse in southern France where nearly 700,000 homes are without power. The national power company expects that in some cases it may take more than a week before power is restored.''

Crumbs - poor people if another one does follow in its wake. That's very bad news.

Living in Galicia we had some terrible weather. But luckily for us no damage apart from a plastic sun lounger which was not stored out of harms reach. Our power was off for just less than 24 hours.
There still areas with out power.
