We've joined the ranks!

Post by Nemo »

Well today we finally completed on our UK holiday property. :D Yipee.....except I 've got no-one to celebrate with as hubby is away in Montreal and the kids don't think it's anything to celebrate (buying a "shed" as they put it!).

It has taken a very long time and felt like an uphill battle for the last three months. The completion statement was wrong (ie the monies we owed), which I corrected yesterday only to find that it was still wrong this morning, on completion day itself. A couple of phone calls and £1000 paid by debit card and all was sorted!

So glad I found this site and that I have some cyber buddies to share my news with. Cheers - have one on me!

Thanks for all your good wishes.

We're just packing the cars up (if only it would stop raining for long enough) with all the extra goodies that did not come with the house. Hoping to add to future holidaymakers enjoyment with a dvd player for starters!

So tomorrow we embark on our first visit as owners - its very exciting at present - let's hope that thought remains. Thanks again to all who have helped me so far - in the main anonymously as I read your wise words on the forum, but I must name Windy who was happy to give a complete stranger his mobile and I was promptly straight on the phone picking his brain!

Long may the generosity of this forum remain. :D Hope you all have a Happy Easter wherever you are.
