Check round everywhere Nessie...you might find it screwed up in a ball somewhere...or soaking if stained.
Alternatively it may have been so stained they were too embarassed to leave it and took it with them!

We've had guests walk off with books and the odd teaspoon but never a sheet!

I bet no-one can beat this:

A bird's nest

When we bought our house, there was a house martin's nest (empty) under one of the beams (inside). Apparently the previous owners had left the window open and gone out for the day and on their return they found a bird busy building the nest. Obviously, they had to evict the bird, but they kept the nest.

We kept it too, because it was a real talking point and one of the "quirks" of the property.

After about two years, we noticed one day that it was no longer there, and no sign or indication of when or where it had gone...

We have one brewing at the moment  When its finally resolved I will publish the correspondence.............But for the mean time, this was the last e-mail we sent...................10 points to anyone who can guess whats going on.

"Well they have had all day and as of 7pm our time we haven't heard
anything from the owners. If they do call us then naturally we will be
happy to meet up, and if they are ours then of course it will not be
difficult to identify them! However we are not going to call and
chase them ourselves. Please understand that they have already called
us and stated clearly that they did not have them, and we are not
prepared to call them and basically accuse them of having lied to us
or stolen them.

Can you suggest what our guests are supposed to do in the meantime?

Kind regards,

Nicky & Paul"
